The student population is huge, so there’s always something going on, from amazing club nights to chilled-out pub quizzes, and everyone is super friendly. I love that you can walk from the historic academic buildings straight into the buzzing Northern Quarter with its cool independent shops and cafes. The music scene is legendary, and you can catch live bands almost any night of the week, often for cheap! Plus, it’s really well-connected for travel, and even though it’s a major city, you can still find affordable places to live and eat if you know where to look.
